Starting with thye actual case, Overall in excellent order complete with key, there are scuffs/knocks to the 2 front lid corners but I suppose we can not expect quite perfection...
All items you see are exactly as we acquired this set , we have not polished any silver nor washed the glass etc... It really is in untouched condition. Within the lid theres is the 6 piece brush and mirror set.
A secret compartment lies beneath the mirror,,,, These pieces are hallmarked London 1903 with the makers mark being that of John Collard Vickery, as indication of size the mirror measures 272mm in length. All perfect but for a small hairline betwen 2 teeth of the hair comb. Hip Flask hallmarked 1900 with makers mark being that of George Henry James, This stands 150mm tall.Snuff box hallmarked 1900 with makers mark being that of Charles Henry Dumenil, it measures 90x52x28mm. The carriage clock which is in excellent working order and immaculate , hallmarked from 1900 with makers mark being George Henry James. With handle down it measures 68mm tall.
Page turner, shoe horn and glove stretchers all by George Henry James from 1900. Burner from 1900 by Charles Henry Dumenil, the hair straighteners are from 1907, cant quite make out makers mark on these... These fold down are contained with a seperate crocodile case. Bottles are by George Henry James and hallmarked Birmingham 1900, one bottle has damage to the top rim of glass and lid now no longer fits snugly.
All other in excellent order. That covers all the pieces with silver, also in this impressive case is a crocodile skin card case, Ink well, Vesta case containing original matches, address book , Razor and strop case(contents missing), blotter paper book and propelling pencil and a manicure set with mother of pearl handles and a sewing box with contents. The actual case measures 19x13x8 inches approx, all silver has a hammered effect finish and all initials on cartouche match the outer caseV. Check out our other items.
